Weekend Update!
What a fun weekend! I spent most of it trying to get my blog set up and trying to figure all that out. I like what I ended up with and hope to improve it as I continue to grow!
Saturday morning was so-so. There’s a hill at my neighborhood park so I was going to do hill repeats during my run. I’m training for three races in the fall that will be a challenge because they involve running up bridges. I run flat courses around my neighborhood so I know this will be a new experience. I couldn’t quite get into my groove on Saturday so it was a bit frustrating but I got through it.
Later in the day, Jordan and I went shopping and we found some cycling shoes! I’m so excited that we had some money left in the budget so I could get them. I will put them to good use during my spin classes and they will serve as more motivation to go and keep improving!
Sunday morning was AMAZING. My training plan called for a four mile run and I was ready mentally. I woke up determined that this run was going to go well. I’ll admit that I was struggling a bit at the beginning but I found my groove and just let me legs take over. Is this something other runners experience? Like, when you stop thinking and just run? It’s absolutely amazing what your body can do if you just let it. We finished up at the park (my hubby goes and catches Pokemon, haha!) and rushed home to get ready for church.
Church was amazing and I was so glad to have made it even if we were rushing. There’s nothing like getting filled up spiritually to set your sights on your goals for the week. Ready to work toward my goals and keep training this week!
What did you do this weekend? Any cool runs or fun trips? 😊
