Variety In Your Workout Schedule
It’s been a minute friends but I’m still here cranking away at my 5k goal. While I absolutely love running, it’s been a bit of an adjustment as I’m still trying to stay on top of my strength training. I found a good weekly schedule that works for me and I’m slowly seeing some awesome improvement! Today I wanted to share a bit about a great opportunity I had earlier this year and speak about the benefits of variety in your workout schedule.
Like I mentioned, I am currently working toward a goal 5k time (read more about that here) and I’ve had to make some adjustments to my workout schedule. To me that means prioritizing runs and getting in quality miles over junk workouts. However I also don’t want to get bored so I’ll throw in fun bootcamps or spin classes to still get a good workout in. Imagine my surprise when a fitness company reached out to me and wanted to collaborate on a project!
FITURE is an interactive fitness mirror with all kinds of amazing programing. Its sleek and slender mirror design was a perfect fit for my home office and I LOVED the awesome data on the screen during the workouts. FITURE offers classes in different modalities such as Boxing, HIIT, Dance Cardio, and Pilates. Something like this is the perfect way to add variety to your workout schedule!
One of the things I loved about it is the Motion Engine technology which checked your form and offered feedback. It also kept track of my reps so all I had to do was focus on the moves. It was truly a great way to keep my attention during a workout and work harder to get my score up the leaderboard!
My partnership with FITURE has ended and I only had the device on loan but it served as a wonderful way to add variety to my schedule and keep my body guessing. Making time for “fun” focused workouts or cross training in the middle of training for a race or towards a goal is super important. Whether that’s FITURE, Peloton, or other methods of fitness, scheduling variety in your workout schedule essentially makes you a stronger athlete! It may be a bit out of your comfort zone but you never know what you could fall in love with!
Do you have an at-home fitness service you use? How do you keep variety in your workout schedule?
