Tips To Stretch At Home!

Tips To Stretch At Home

Happy Wednesday friends! I hope you’re having a great one! It’s a short week for me so I’m glad that it’s going by quickly. Staying busy but making sure to continue to prioritize recovery! On Monday I shared tips to help you stretch throughout the work day. Now, I wanted to share tips to help you stretch at home!

So often, people will tell me that they don’t have time to stretch. They’ll get busy and don’t set aside the time to do it. While I understand that it can seem a bit counterproductive to stop what you’re doing to stretch, it will benefit you in the long run! Here are a few tips that help me get a good stretch session in while I’m home.

Tip #1: Do it while watching TV

Let’s be honest, we can all spend a good amount of time on our butts watching TV. Instead of sitting there, why not stretch? I’ll often sit in front of the couch and stretching (or foam roll) while watching an episode of a show. This kills two birds with one stone! I get to enjoy what I’m watching and stay limber and take care of my body.

Tip #2: Set out a mat and roller

Maybe you’re the type of person who needs to a visual reminder to do it. A few of my friends like to stretch before bed so having the yoga mat rolled out or your foam roller in a place you’ll see it may help you do it. Give it a try and you’ll be more likely to think about it and get it done!

Tip #3: Set a timer

Just like my other post, when you’re thinking about it set a timer and do it right then and there. Simply five minutes a day can do wonders for your body! Getting into the habit to set the timer and stretch will be beneficial in the long run.

What about you? Do you have a stretching routine at home? Let me know if any of these tips help you!
