The Weekend We Froze
So with usual Texas weather, you never know what to expect! I am so bad about not checking the weather that I’ll sometimes plan a workout outdoors with shorts and a tank only to see the thermometer by the door tell me it’s in the 40s outside. I know this weekend would be cold but I didn’t expect to freeze!
A cool front hit us mid week when everyone started to get snow up north. I like the cold but I feel like it just slapped us and will abandon us quickly. I planned for a chilly weekend but one outdoors nonetheless.
Saturday
When I woke up on Saturday, it was a whopping 26 degrees. There was a bit of wind that made it seem that much colder. I really wanted to the because it’s the weekend before the marathon and a treadmill is just not an option.
I had to wear two pairs of pants and a long sleeve shirt under a thick hoodie to make it through! The wind whipped my face and my lips were numb about a mile in. We got six miles in and hurried inside!
After we thawed out, we dropped off my car to get serviced and went on over to Top Golf to play a bit. Their bays have heaters so even though it was chilly outside, the bays weren’t too bad. We got there around lunch time so we decided to eat a little bit since we had a gift card from Christmas. I tried out their Angus Burger Donut Sliders and they were amazing. It was just the right amount of sweet and savory!
To be totally honest, Jordan and I are not golf players and we’ve never actually learned to play. We just get a kick out of being outdoors and attempting to the hit ball. We’ve gotten pretty good and we like to compete with each other. I watch YouTube and try to learn tricks since he usually beats me. I may have to work on my chip shot to get a higher score than him, haha!
We came home to an awesome mail delivery! I received my Stride Box for the month and I really loved the goodies! I received a subscription for it for Christmas and I’m already a fan. Sunday
We woke up Sunday morning and my husband was not feeling well. I felt pretty bad for the guy since he was such a trooper the day before. The rest of the day was spent with us on the couch having a Glee marathon. I did my best to help him feel better because I know it’s not the best feeling in the world.
I had a small meal prep this week so I broke it up throughout the day while I was helping Jordan. We finished up the night playing scrabble and relaxing.
I’m so excited because the week is finally here! It’s officially marathon week! I’ll actually be starting a new MMA inspired workout this week as well so it will keep my mind off the craziness. I’m so excited and just a bit nervous because it feels like the day would never come and now it’s almost here! I’ll definitely be doing a recap next week.
