Staying On Track With Peloton!
Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! I know some of us could hardly make it through on Wednesday with Facebook and Instagram being down but we got through it! All jokes aside, I wanted to pop in with a bit of an honestly moment. Getting my butt back into a running routine has been rough. That’s why I’m so glad I have my Peloton bike and Tread which make staying on track so much easier!
I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials for the bike on TV. You’ve probably seen the commercials for their treadmill and the app as well. With all kinds of running, bootcamp, strength training, and yoga classes there really is no shortage of workouts to find. My husband looked at the budget and started my obsession when he figured out that we could afford the bike a couple years ago. While the bike was originally to help me get through injury. It was a big part of staying on track with my marathon training.
Getting the tread late last year was awesome because it came when I needed some rehab after the marathon. Not only did it get me walking so I was able to get my daily steps in but it also challenged me with bootcamp classes. I attend a crossfit-style gym but being able to do bootcamp classes at home mixed things up and kept my body guessing. The classes available on the tread are no joke! Also having a library of yoga and stretch classes aided in my recovery as well.
Now that I’m officially training for a race I know that I need to put in the work. However, my motivation is lacking. I’m not sure it’s because there was a big break due to injury or because I “missed” all of winter running outdoors and would rather sleep. My coach gives me a schedule and I set alarms with the intent of waking up. However I’ll lay in bed and contemplate life. That’s where the Peloton comes in!
Having the community to hold me accountable to showing up for live rides and treadmill classes gets me going. I wanted to bail on my easy 4 mile run yesterday but having people expect me on a live afternoon class was a major key in staying on track! I’ll often look at my running schedule for the week and see what the Peloton schedule is for the week. I’ll try to line up workouts and runs so I can have the accountability of the community.
I know that they can just seem like pricey pieces of equipment but the community aspect has been a major game changer for me. That’s why I’m so thankful for Peloton for helping me find motivation on my fitness journey!
