Staying Hydrated On Long Runs!

Good morning friends! I hope you are having a lovely day so far. The temps are starting to rise slowly but surely here in the south and staying hydrated is becoming more of a concern of mine. I’ve heard of magical running routes with plenty of water fountains available but I have yet to find any of those near me. There are a few far and between but maybe I just run off the beaten path too much. However, my trusty Orange Mud vest is a major part in staying hydrated on my long runs!

When I got on longer runs, I make sure to carry my phone, fuel, water, and identification with me. Sometimes I drive to other parts of town and have to carry my keys as well. Even though I carry a lot with me, I want my hands to be as free as possible. That’s where a hydration pack comes in! My husband has been kind enough to let me borrow his during the past year. However, he’s big man sized and well….I’m not. The pack worked but wasn’t the most comfortable.

The Gear Vest Pro has been such a life saver! Orange Mud has managed to make a pack that can hold a lot but doesn’t feel like a bulky pack. With adjustable straps on the side and the front, I was able to adjust it for my frame. It seriously fits like a glove and doesn’t bounce at all while I run. The bladder is 1L which is the perfect amount when it comes to staying hydrated for an hour or so on the road. It even has the option to add soft flasks to the front pockets for longer treks.

The front pockets were such a selling point for me because I have a giant phone. With my old pack, I would have to set my phone and forget it for the duration of the run. The Gear Vest Pro allows me to be able to carry my phone up front and pull it out if necessary. With bungee cords to close the pocket, it keeps it nice and snug and I don’t have any issues with it! The bigger cargo zipper pocket in the back holds my keys and ID securely so I don’t worry about them bouncing out. It’s light, fits me perfectly, and keeps my hands free during my runs!
