Running To Honor Veterans with DAV 5k!

DAV 5K

Happy Monday! It is officially October and marathon month! I’m super excited and I’m putting the finishing touches on all the travel plans and meet ups. I will pop in later this week to share my goals for the month but I wanted to write a quick post about an awesome race that I have signed up for! Even though the Chicago Marathon is coming up, I like to have plans after the race so I don’t get too comfortable. Anyone else the same way?

This past summer, I beat my fastest 5k time. It was a hot and humid race and it felt awesome to be able to sprint to the finish. With plenty of speed work in the Houston heat, I know that I have more in me. I figured with the weather cooling down soon, a race in November would be a great time to try to get another PR! That’s where the Dav 5k comes in. Here’s a little bit of information about the race from their website:

The DAV 5K Run to Honor Veterans is a run, walk, roll and motorcycle ride that thanks those who served and raises awareness of the issues our ill and injured veterans face every day. The DAV 5K National Series is presented by DAV (Disabled American Veterans), a nonprofit organization that helps more than 1 million veterans in life-changing ways each year.

BibRave has given me the opportunity to run this race as well as promote a great cause. Veterans have done so much for our country and I wholeheartedly support any organization who helps those who The DAV 5k is a national series with races coming up so check out their website and see if there is one near you! If you do sign up, use code BIBRAVE4DAV5K for 20% off any race!

I’ll be following up on a post about my training so stay tuned! Hope you have a great week!
