Running Essentials!
Let’s talking about my favorite subject: Running! I love getting outdoors and feeling the sunshine on my skin. It’s definitely a good time for me to think and reflex or just let loose and jam out to my music! I thought I would give you a little run down of my favorite running essentials!
Fitbit Surge
First things first, I LOVE my Fitbit. I’ve had one since the O.G. pedometer that you hooked on your waist band. I’ve since upgraded to a Surge and I love it because it has built in GPS. My phone GPS sucks so unfortunately anything that pairs with that, is a no go. I wear it while I run but it’s also an all day activity tracker so I can wear it throughout my day. It’s got a nice big screen that gives me distance gone, time, pace, calories, and heart rate.
Garmin Forerunner 10
If you’re looking for something a bit more technical, I also use a Garmin Forerunner. I have a simple version that I LOVE to use during intervals or when I want to hit a goal pace. You can set run/walk (or run/sprint) interval timers and it alerts you at each section while also calculating duration and pace. It’s also got a coach setting that will alert you when you’re not hitting your goal pace.
Nathan Waterbottle
It’s hot in Texas y’all! So I always carry water with me. I know that this is a hassle and some people just run loops and have a water stash hidden. I like this Nathan bottle set up because it has a little pocket for keys or energy gels. It’s especially useful if I am running somewhere away from home so I don’t have to worry about making sure my keys don’t fall. This one is insulated so cold water is a plus!
Compression Shorts
I’ve recently ventured into the world of compression shorts. Hear me out guys, I’m NOT an Under Armor girl. I like buying my stuff mostly at Target or during off-season sales. Heck, I’ve been known to venture into the kids section. However, I hadn’t been able to find a length of short that I felt comfortable in and something that wouldn’t ride up. On a whim, I gave these a try. These are amazing! I bought them a size up so I don’t feel like I’m dying and these are so good for running! They offer the right amount of compression and there’s no chaffing. That is a HUGE blessing on long runs.
Flip Belt
And lastly, my absolute favorite is my flip belt! This thing holds everything! When I don’t feel like running with music, I can use this to hold my phone. These also can store keys or energy gels if you opt out of the water bottle. It’s truly a life saver because it doesn’t slip down and it’s WAY more comfortable than a fanny pack, haha!
Hope you guys enjoyed this post. All the picture are clickable and will take you to Amazon to purchase these items, so check them out! What do you like to take with you on your runs?
