My Favorite Peloton Instructors!
Hey friends! It’s been a minute but I’m finally getting into the writing groove again. Even though I’ve been away from the blog for a bit, I’ve still been getting in all my workouts. The Peloton community has grown and there’s been so many additions to the instructor line up lately! I know it can all be a bit overwhelming but I’m here to help! Without further ado, let’s get into my favorite Peloton instructors!
Now even though there’s only the Peloton Bike and Tread, there’s many different types of classes. I figured I’d break it down and give my two favorites in the following spaces: Cycling, Tread, and Yoga!
Favorite Peloton Instructors: Cycling
I got my bike back in 2018 and I’ve been a pretty loyal Jess King fan. The main reason why I purchased my Peloton was due to the diversity of the instructor team. Seeing a fellow Latina like Jess King on the team made me feel included. Jess King is loud, silly, and gives you the space to be yourself. One of her mantras is “glitter is a strategy” and her playlists have heavy EDM/House influences. She’s a dance party of the bike and her classes give you permission to dance or rage or let it all out!
My second instructor is Cody Rigsby. He is the instructor that reminds us that “it’s not that deep”. His classes tend to be on the “fun and flirty” side but he also makes you work for that recovery where you “get your life together”. You’re always guaranteed a laugh with his classes and he’ll have you dancing with playlists that range from the 90s to present pop hits. If you need a fun ride, he’s the one to try!
Favorite Peloton Instructors: Tread
I’ll be honest and say that running on the treadmill can be a bit of a struggle for me so I need someone to make it worth my while. Chase Tucker has that goofy personality that can also fire you up with a good playlist. His runs and bootcamps are very rhythm based so you’ll be doing chorus pick ups and sprints during heavy beat drops. He’s also got some epic Punk Pop classes which remind me of my teenage years. You’ll often hear the “1, 2, 1, 2” in his instruction and you’ll be able to dial in and get those miles. His Artist Series have been amazing but he’s also a wonderful storyteller. (His Juneteenth Run is one you shouldn’t miss!)
If you want to put in the work and make every minute count, Jess Sims is your girl. However, be aware that she WILL ruin songs for you. Her teaching past shines as she plays “listening games” during class and will often have you cursing out artists for repeating phrases so many times. However, she’s a team player and she’s always pushing along side of you. She reminds us that we don’t have to work out, we GET to workout.
Favorite Peloton Instructors: Yoga
Yoga is a wonderful supplement to all the hard workouts we do and one instructor I absolutely adore is Anna Greenberg. Her voice is like a cozy hug from a friend. One of my favorite things about Anna is that she shares her own struggles with anxiety and creates a space on the mat to open up. Her classes can be challenging but she also offers a space to learn and grow. Her Cultivate Courage series is a wonderful place to be playful and learn about yourself all while breaking a sweat. I may also be biased because she shared my story in one of the classes but seriously, what’s not to love about Anna?
My Mexican heart was so so happy when Peloton introduced Marianna Fernandez. She teaches in English AND Spanish and just bring a wonderful energy to the mat. Her flows have many different dance breaks but she also allows you to go deeper in poses. Her classes are full of opportunity to grow and she allows you the space to merge the emotive and physical parts of yoga.
Those are just a handful of the growing Peloton roster and I hardly made a dent. There’s plenty of other instructors that didn’t make the list that I absolutely love. Give them a try and let me know what you think!
If you’re part of the Peloton community, who are some of your favorite instructors?
