Movie Weekend Update!

What are weekends for if not for being a couch potato? Okay, well I DID go on a run so I wasn’t technically on the couch all weekend!

Saturday

I started off my morning with an eight mile run. All week, I worked hard with this run in mind. Training for a half marathon in a short amount of time means that I really have to build my base wisely. Jordan biked alongside me and I was on cloud nine. The weather was great, the run felt easy, and I hit my target pace!

Much needed breakfast after my run!

This week has been particularly stressful. Work relationships have been rough and I received some new responsibilities. I also got a raise! It was definable a bittersweet situation. My husband was on board with just having a relaxing Saturday.

During marathon training last year, we missed a lot of movies in theaters because I was just exhausted and training runs took so long. We made up for that this weekend! Redbox is seriously the best. We picked up snacks and a handful of movies.

  1. The Accountant
  2. Hacksaw Ridge
  3. Deepwater Horizon
  4. Now You See Me 2
  5. Sully

It’s a tie between the first two for my favorite but they were all so good! The ending in The Accountant definitely got me though. My expectations weren’t too high since Ben Affleck can be hit or miss. This movie was great though!

Sunday

My husband was sweet enough to take me to get crêpes! There’s a great place near Rice University that just has the most delicious crêpes. I picked a savory one this time: The Houstonian. It’s filled with eggs, potato, sausage, bacon, mozzarella, and jalapeños. Their sweet crêpes are delicious too!

We finished up Sully in the afternoon while we prepped for they week and did our usual Sunday duties. Our dog had her check up at the vet so while we waited for her to be done, we got snow cones! It was in the 80s here in Houston this weekend so I think it’s safe to say we are in Texas summer.

I’ll be continuing to build some mileage this week but I’ll also be taking care of my legs. Jordan bought me “Run Fast, Eat Slow” so I’m excited to try out some amazing recipes to help me recover and fuel my runs!

Have you seen any of these movies? Do you like savory or sweet crêpes?
