Let’s Talk About Juicing!
Juicing is one of my favorite things to incorporate into my diet. It’s a quick and easy way to get veggies into your day. They are also a popular way to give your body a quick reset when you’ve been indulging just a bit too much!
One thing to remember with juicing is to do so sparingly. I do not advise doing this to replace meals. Depending on the juice, they can be high in sugar. These are natural sugars found in fruit and vegetables but if you have too much you’ll have a crazy sugar spike and crash soon.
Keep in mind that when I talk about juicing, I’m referring to the cold pressed juice with no added sugar. These are usually refrigerated or must be consumed soon after being made. You don’t necessarily want to drink V8 and think you’re getting a cleanse.
How To Start Juicing!
There’s so many different juice places around and there’s even those that can deliver to your home! If you are just starting out, I would recommend something that’s a bit more fruit based so you won’t be turned off by the flavor. Green juices can take some getting used to.
A juice cleanse helps your system get back to normal if you may have overindulged or may not have been feeling well. I would recommend doing a one day juice cleanse with minimal activity for the day. After the cleanse, I would slowly ease back into solid food and stay on the lighter side. If it goes well, you can build up to a longer cleanse. I would definitely make sure to keep it to a one cleanse a month. If you’re a bit apprehensive on doing the full day of juicing, you can eat fruit and veggies and supplement with cold pressed juices.
I really love cold pressed juices because they can help you get all your veggies in for the day. I feel that as a person who’s usually on the move, it can be a healthy snack!
JuiceLand is a chain in Texas that sells cold pressed juice and smoothies. Check them out here!
