June Round Up and July Goals!

July Goals

Another month has passed! It feels like it went by so slowly and then sped by. My month has been busy with so many changes but it’s been great. I think I’m finally settled in to my routine and getting the hang of it!

June Wrap Up and July Goals

As far as June goes, it was great! I got a new job and joined a new gym. There was so much prayer and debate on this new job but I’m glad I went for it because it’s turning out great. Seriously, my stress levels are lower than they have been in months (except with the blip earlier this week).

It’s been YEARS since I’ve had a gym membership but I’ve decided that strength training is my friend and I should add it to my routine. Spin was great but I was getting many overuse injuries when I tried to attend spin classes AND run long distances. I was majorly in denial. My body is responding so much better and I’m glad to say it’s been TWO WEEKS with no groin or hip pain.

As far as Summer Goals go, I’ve been doing well with memories over macros! I eat well during the week and I’ve been letting loose a bit on the weekends. Jordan and I have tried new restaurants and it’s making our date nights fun. We also floated the Guadalupe River this month so we’re checking them off!

July is going to be a great month! It will be the month I finally begin my half-marathon training. I’ve got one race picked out in October and I’m eyeing another in December. My plan doesn’t start until the last week of July but I’ll be running more often to get my legs used to it and get back into the flow of things. My goal is to run at least 30 miles in the month of July.

July Goals

Only at 85 pounds here but ready to add more weight!

Another goal of mine is to continue to build strength and keep progressing in weight in crosstraining. I’m still finding my threshold when it comes to certain exercises but I really want to be able to get over 100 lbs on my Deadlift and finally hit 85 on my Clean. My shoulders and upper body struggle and could use the muscle. Lower body exercises aren’t as hard for me but I have some muscle imbalances which need work. Focusing on form and practice will help me reach these goals!

What about you? Are these some goals (fitness or otherwise) that you have for the month of July?
