Juice From The Raw Cleanse Review!

Have you ever done a juice cleanse? I’ve always wondered what they were about and if someone could truly live on just juice alone. I mean, in a way it’s a form of an elimination diet and it’s honestly just a bunch of fruit and veggies right? Either way, I decided to bite the bullet and just go for it! It was also helpful that there was a Groupon for this particular cleanse too.

I decided to do a three day cleanse. I figured this would still give me the cleanse “results” without going completely crazy. The cleanse I chose was the 3 Day Whenever Cleanse With Cashew Coffee Milk as my breakfast. You can either choose that or Coconut Fusion as your breakfast. The Cashew Coffee Milk appealed to me because I felt a bit better with a bit more protein in my juices.

The cleanse was six juices daily and it allowed for plenty of water and tea (unsweetened) as well as one raw vegetable a day. I choose tomato with a sprinkle of salt in the evenings. I usually followed my breakfast juice with a peppermint tea and it kept me satiated during the early morning.

The Juices
  1. Cashew Coffee Milk – Cashew, Vanilla, Agave, Cinnamon, Coffee
  2. Pineapple  Mint – Pineapple, Apple, Mint
  3. Sweet Greens – Green Kale, Spinach, Swisschard. Romaine, Celery, Cucumber, Ginger, Lemon, Apple
  4. Spicy Lemonade – Purified Water, Lemons, Organic Agave Nectar, Cayenne Pepper
  5. Root Veggies – Carrot, Apple, Beet, Lemon, Ginger
  6. Detox Greens – Wild Arugula, Watercress, Celery, Dandelion, Ginger, Cucumber, Lemon, Apple

Day 1

Obviously I was super happy to start and so motivated. Each juice tasted really good and I was pleasantly surprised that each one was better than the last. However, I quickly learned that I had to avoid Instagram. I would keep seeing so many posts of food that looked so DELICIOUS simply because I couldn’t have it. I did my best to sip water and stay busy. Luckily, I had to audit projects for work so it really kept me busy.

As far as mood goes, I felt fine. I wasn’t hangry which I didn’t expect. I did start noticing a bit of a “brain fog”. I’m not sure if it was because of work AND the cleanse but I was definitely exhausted. When I got home for the evening, I deep cleaned my house to stay out of the kitchen. My house was spotless and I enjoyed my last juice before bed, content that I had made it through the day.

Day 2

When I woke up, I felt so TIRED. I slept well but I think my body was still sorting out the cleanse. Initially, I was going to try to go on a run but I opted for yoga. I built up a nice sweat and felt good. I was STARVING for my first juice so I drank it as fast as I could. Around 10 AM, the brain fog came back. I also was pulled away and drank one of my afternoon juices a bit too late. This day was the toughest and by the time I got home, I felt it. I was really SAD and I couldn’t pin point it. I figured that my body was just doing it’s thing and I needed to take it slow.

Day 3

I woke up so happy because I knew that I had made it! My husband and I hit the park early in the morning. Waking up wasn’t as hard and I was truly full of energy. I began running and instantly knew something was off. Because I had not eaten my usual protein and carb rich diet, my legs felt awful. My run quickly turned into a walk and I did my best to be mindful for the rest of the day. I had an afternoon Pilates class which was a tad more challenging because I was tired from the day. Overall my mood and hunger improved on this day.

Final Word

Juice From The Raw really cover their bases with these juices! They are absolutely delicious and I looked forward to drinking each of them. After the cleanse, I did notice that some of the bloating in my midsection was gone. I didn’t use this as a weight loss plan but as a way to really start fresh and give my body a break.

My workout routine is way too intense to try to follow with a cleanse. I know now that my protein and carbs are NECESSARY and I will cherish these. Following the cleanse, you are to slowly reintroduce food back into your diet to give your body time to get used to it again. I had a salad and soup yesterday and I plan to finish off the week with a vegetarian dinner choice. Meat will be the last food group that will be introduced over the weekend.

I’m grateful for the experience but I’m not sure that I would do a cleanse again. The brain fog was just way too much for me and I really didn’t care for it. I do love the juices and I may incorporate some of those into my diet.
