How To Get Fit Without Getting Bored

So getting started on your fitness journey is definitely a challenge but sometimes once you get going, you can get in a slump. Not only does your body get accustomed to your workouts but you aren’t mentally engaged and aren’t making progress.

At the beginning of this year, I started incorporating different types of workouts. I will forever enjoy running but I was starting to get burned out. I began following the Tone It Up community and began to fit in High Intensity Interval Training into my workout schedule. The fast paced full body workouts were a major shock to my body. Yes I was sore and some days were HARD but I began to notice muscle definition.

Indoor Cycling is another way to get a great workout in. Many studios have a party vibe and themes for some classes so it’s one of my favorite activities. It’s a great full body workout. Now hear me out, this is not regular bike riding you’re used to! You’ll be doing sprints, adding resistance, incorporating weights and doing abs workouts all while your feet never stop. This is a class that gets better as you go but I highly recommend it.

Pilates and Yoga are often thought of as the same thing but they usually aren’t. The one thing they both have in common is that they strengthen your body. Yoga has different styles but focuses on being mindful of your body. There are so yoga poses that take sooo much strength. Just like with anything, practice makes perfect.

Like yoga, there are different forms of Pilates. Reformer Pilates uses a table with different resistance straps which you will manage with your body. You will definitely get a full body workout from this one.

Keeping your body guessing and mixing up your workouts will definitely lead to results!
