Healthy Options While Dining Out!
Happy Friday friends! I hope you have had a wonderful week. It was a short week for many of us but it has been eventful! Before diving into today’s topic, I wanted to let you guys know that I will be taking a break from the blog for the month of June! So many new things happening in my life and I want to get settled in to my new routine and didn’t want to neglect the blog in the process!
Today we are talking about choosing healthy options while dining out. Depending on your goals and your schedule, dining out may not be a daily thing. That’s totally fine. Dining out is usually reserved for the weekend for me but there are a few times where I have to take customers to lunch. That’s where these tips come in handy because sometimes I don’t want to have a super heavy meal for lunch. Here are a few tips to chose healthy options while dining out!
Tip #1: Choose veggies
Depending on where you go, there may be an option to choose a side for your meal. This is where I try to make sure I pick veggies. I don’t go crazy and analyze what they’re cooked in and so on because I feel like that’s splitting hairs and takes away the joy of eating out. If I can choose veggies as a side or add them to my meal then I’m finding a balance.!
Tip #2: Split Big Portions
This is another way you can still enjoy your meal but keep your portions in check. Some restaurants will have combo plates or massive portions. By sharing with someone, you’re able to satisfy the craving but still stay in check. Plus there’s something nice about being able to split a meal with my husband this way!
Tip #3: Watch Your Drinks
An easy way to skew a meal is by your beverage choice. Soda has a bunch of sugar and that can be a sneaky stumbling block. Alcohol can be even worse. A healthy option while dining out would be to opt for water instead of soft drinks. If you want to drink something different, maybe limit yourself to one and follow up with water!
There you have it. Three simple tips that can help you choose healthy options while dining out. With little tweaks like these, you’ll still be able to enjoy yourself while staying on track with your goals.
