Happy New Year!

It is officially 2017! I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Years celebration. As always, my husband and I didn’t make it until midnight. I think in our whole relationship we’ve only made it to midnight once only to fall asleep soon after, haha! We’re always so early to bed that our bodies just can’t take it.

So I hope you had a great start to the year. I got to spend Saturday with the in laws as we did Christmas celebrations. I got some pretty neat things including some awesome ear buds! They are COMPLETELY wireless which is was I really wanted. I couldn’t stand the “wireless” ones with the connection in the back. I also got some pretty awesome booty bands and spin classes. They know me so well!

Snowflake also got some sweet gifts including a new bed. Although it only lasted for a day before she decided to start tearing it up. Typical dog, haha!

The weekend was so rainy and the weather unpredictable. I was able to go on a quick run Saturday evening to try out the headphones but I didn’t run as much as I would have liked this weekend.

I’m officially tapering for the marathon and it’s terrifying y’all! I have so much free time now that I’m trying not to freak out and worry. I try to keep busy and I have been doing my best to try to stay healthy. Between yoga and spin classes, my legs have been getting plenty of work. I have a couple more weeks left for the marathon and I can’t wait to see how it goes. I’m confident in my training and I know that my legs have grown stronger during this training period.

Sunday morning was yet another rainy morning. Although, I wasn’t able to run I’m honestly not complaining because I just to enjoy the first day of the year snuggling in bed. It was really nice because I know that I have been taking mornings like these for granted. It may sound silly but I’ve come to realize that I take a lot of things for granted during marathon training. A slow Sunday morning was just was I needed to start the year.

The rest of the Sunday was spent at church, using some of the gift cards we received for Christmas, and watching football! Meal prep was a snap due to the food I had prepared with the Veggie Bullet. Even though I always feel like there was something else to do on Sunday evenings, I had a great ending to a holiday weekend.

As the week cones to a start, I would like to hear some of your plans for the New Year. Is health and fitness at the top of your list? I know many people struggle with this but 2017 can be your year of breakthrough! If you’re looking for a workout and a meal plan as well as free support, you’re in luck! I’m running a challenge group next week and I’d love for you to be in it! Email me for more information at Virjinia@withpurposeandkindness.com
