Christmas Decorating Weekend!
The weather finally agreed with us this weekend and some decorating happened. It’s finally looking like Christmas around here!
Saturday
Well even though there was good intentions Saturday morning, my long run didn’t happen like I wanted it to. I’ve been working hard all week and trying to stay active but have a good balance between running and strength training. I woke up feeling good with no muscle pains. However when I got out on the road, it was a different story.
It was the coldest I had run in yet! It was 40 degrees and it felt like my face was going to FREEZE! I was running at a good pace but started feeling tightness in my leg and I noticed my stride changing. I decided to call it quits and went ahead and tried to do what I could on the treadmill. I was able to complete an hour on the treadmill for a total of 10 miles! I was still happy all things considered.
Naturally, I was starving all day. Long runs always leave me famished which means eating ALL DAY LONG. I basically carried cherry tomatoes and carrots with me while we went to the hardware store for supplies. Since there was no rain in the forecast, we were finally getting our Christmas lights up!
Our Christmas tree has been up for a while and all our indoor decorations have been set up. All that was left was getting the lights on our house. After some convincing and careful ladder placement, all the lights were hung up! We didn’t realize how high the peaks of our house were until we tried to reach them with a ladder, haha!
The heavy rains last weekend also postponed the city Christmas parade. I was so bummed but we got to enjoy it this weekend! The weather was still on the cooler end but I had my peppermint tea and my hat!
We saw firetrucks (which were Jordan’s favorite), all kinds of cop cars, local business floats, and awesome decked out bikes and lowriders! It was pretty neat because so many floats were covered in lights and had awesome themes.
Sunday
It was a typical Sunday morning spent with the ducks. The weather decided to warm up overnight so it was a warm morning. We did our two loops at the park and I did a quick yoga session that’s part of the 21 Day Fix. It felt so good to stretch out my muscles. I learned a new way to loosen up my hips a bit so I’ll definitely enjoy that stretch a lot more after runs.
After church, we had our combined Birthday lunch with Jordan’s parents. It was nice since both of our birthdays were earlier in the week!
The rest of the afternoon was spent with relaxing, meal prepping and watching football. We are anxiously awaiting the playoffs because the Kansas City Chiefs are doing so good! It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Do you have all your Christmas decorations up?
