A Day In My Life!

Today’s post is to share a little bit about my daily routine. Since working out is a big part of what I do and talk about on social media, I’ll share about my day surrounding my workouts.

A Day In My Life

Morning Routine:

I wish I was one of those people who could get up and leisurely sip my coffee while reading the news or journal but that’s not me. My schedule is packed so once that alarm goes off around 4:30AM or 5AM (depending on the day), it’s immediately out of bed into the bathroom. To make things easier for myself, I set out my workout clothes the night before so I don’t have to stress about that. I quickly clean up and get dressed and I’m out the door in about 20 minutes. If I’m working out at home, I try to stick to the same timeline.

Once my workout is done, then it’s home for a quick breakfast. If I’m doing a workout at home, I can make a bigger breakfast. My schedule dictates how extravagant I go for breakfast but I always make breakfast. Missing meals is a no-no in our household! Once I’ve eaten, I shower, get dressed, and I’m off to work. My commute is short and I’m at the office by 8am so you can see that I squeeze in A LOT in about four hours in the morning!

Afternoon Routine

After work, I whip up some dinner. You can count on the dinner to get simpler as the week goes on. However it’s a good guess that dinner on Monday will be AMAZING. That’s when I try out new recipes and block out time to create more intensive dishes. By Thursday, you get a simple meal and we eat out every Friday. After dinner is when I’ll do my mobility exercises and stretching. If I want to squeeze in another workout, it’s something low impact, like yoga, before bed. If it’s a run or a ride, I tend to do it before dinner. Basically after dinner time, I’m DONE. Mentally I’m pretty done with the day so I use that time before bed to unwind.

My work schedule dictates what my workouts look like but for the most part, this is the format of my day. At work I do my best to stay active and stretch during breaks. I’m a creature of habit so I like picking my routine and sticking to it!
