2016 Review!
Y’all it’s been such a crazy year. It’s truly been a great one for me and I wanted to write up a quick review!
This blog didn’t start until the last part of the year but I definitely had a bunch of growth this year. I started the year with the intent of pushing myself physically. I signed up for a race series because I really wanted to push myself. I knew that I could run well but I decided to so hill races to push myself to be stronger and train more efficiently.
I also tried out spin class for the first time. It was truly a silly reason how I ended up at spin class but I seriously don’t question it. It has become the thing that has pushed me to be a stronger person physically and mentally. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve had a good cry in spin class where I just let it all out.
Little changes in my diet brought me to new levels of fitness. I also grew deeper in my faith and started seeing my marriage in a different light. I wanted to improve myself personally so I may bring my husband joy and enhance our marriage. We talked more and enjoyed dates without technology. It was great to really get to know my husband and reconnect!
As silly as it sounds, I prayed for friends. I prayed for a community of women who would build each other up in all parts of life. This summer I had a chance to meet so awesome ladies who are still part of my life to this day. They come from all walks of life but I seriously love each and every one of them. I grew more open to new experiences and continued to try new things!
Summer time meant the beginning of training for me. It also meant day dreaming of Boston. I looked at the date of my half marathon and the Houston Marathon and there was enough time to continue training and try my first marathon! Boston may be a few years down the line for me but this is truly a step in the right direction.
I also became a health and fitness coach and I’m truly ready to see what 2017 holds for me. I have many big goals set for myself and I hope to continue this growth that 2016 brought me. My first big step is completing the Houston Marathon in January 15th! It is truly around the corner!
How was your year? What goals do you wish to achieve in 2017?
